My days as a journalist

This year at Lansingburgh high school I am a member of the graduating class of 2012. This summer was the best summer because me and my friends knew that this is are senior year and we are going to do it real big! So September slowly starts to creep up on me and I get my schedule. This was actually the very first class I wanted to drop this year because I didn’t even know what a journalist was. My mom made me suck it up and deal with it, so I take the class. This is hands down my favorite class of my senior year as of now. Not only do we do fun work but we have fun and Mr. huba is a character up there when he’s teaching. I figured out what it is like to be a journalist. A journalist is a person that analysis a story or a interviewer. Journalists are tricky though because they only let you see the side that they are paid to show or want you to believe. Now due to that class I can say I am I inspired journalist at Lansingburgh high school under Mr. huba aka H money. We had some characters in our class which me and my “premeditated journalism partner” Dominick Canty (elmos world) got some chuckles from. I am very glad that I stayed into this class because I found something that I like to do which is blog and write about things on my mind, I may not be good at it but it a hobby I could see myself doing for a little while. At first when I heard that we have 12 blogs due by January I thought this was going to be a hassle but turns out it’s not that bad and 12 may not be enough cause I had fun doing this project and most of all I had a great first half of my last year in high school and I’m proud to say that journalism was 1/5 of my great time that I had this semester. Now that its coming to a end I don’t want it to I have a class sure I don’t talk to everyone or know everyone but it’s a fun class to go to because everyone’s different and Mr. huba could be in front of the class making fun of one kid about one thing and another about another thing. This class, this senior year is one of a kind not only for the people we have in the class but for the amount of fun we have together.

My high school years

My high school years have been 4 great years. since freshman year to now my senior year it had been a great time. I started out a little 14 year old freshman and now I’m a 17 year old senior and I’ve seen a lot of stuff change in my school. I seen it go from the school to be and a fun school to be at to a school where its highest rank lately is on the teen pregnancy charts. This school in for years has changed a lot. I remember it being ok to hang in the hall what for a little while or to be ok to have fun and just to be around people and go to school and want to go to school not because you have to but because you want to. Now a day my school is a school I can’t wait to get out of. My school is the most disgusting school and just all around rudest school I have ever seen. The kids don’t care, the teachers try to be strict and boss kids around because of their title, my principle for example went from a band teacher to a principle and I would like to know if he tried to talk to kids like he does now when he was a band teacher. The more time I spend in school the more I see. I see fights and gang stuff and all sorts of disgusting dirty people. My freshman year it was clean, safe, fun and a great school, not the best but a good school. We had athletics not so much academics but it’s at a all time low now. This is the school I grew up not waiting to get to know I can’t wait to get out. The one thing that I am going to miss is the freedom I have in high school I do my work get it done and get good grades while having fun. I can’t wait to get out because now you can’t look at one person one way and they’ll want to fight. I just seen a teacher mess with a student about going to her class and he got all ghetto and loud with him just over a question about going to class. Sure there’s always going to be bad kids in every class and people have bad days but it’s a everyday occurrence here at my school. When I envisioned my senior year freshman year I thought I would have the best time of my life be in a great school with great people. I’m around great people and very special people, if you know what I mean. I’m not saying I’m the sharpest tool in the shed or a great kid, but I do my work and just do me in school and stay away from all this drama. College, here I come!!

What happened to the rap game?

Look at 20 or 30 years when hip hop was on its rise. The hip hop game had fresh beats and was rapping about their lives either in the streets or what they do all day. Rap group like NWA was the face of west coast rap and the face of “gangster rap”, they didn’t care and they rapped about corrupt and racist cops and were shunned as a group for it. Unlike any other group at that time they produced phenomenal songs like straight out of Compton, easy e, the abc song, ect and they also had people trying to stop their music out but they kept making hits and said f the police. Then at the same time west coast had snoop dog, Dr. Dre. Ice cube, they were loaded on the west coast and the hip hop game was fun and a great story to listen to. Then the two biggest rappers came out and it reached pinnacles it had never seen with biggie smalls and Tupac. Back then it was about a great time and their lives. Now a day the game is about sex, pot, and how much money they have. Rappers these days have ridiculously hit songs but it’s all the same thing. We get it all you guys have money, you don’t have to keep reminding people, they have sex with a lot of girls but I bet my life that if they weren’t famous rappers they would even come close to the girls they are now, and also yea you guys can afford great weed and smoke all day every day, awesome now rap about something new. Now a day’s it’s like hearing a broken record with all of these songs. The rap game needs someone like biggie smalls with that fresh feel and something new. I want to hear another biggie smalls or someone to bring it back a decade or two and rap about something more than how much girls they get, how much pot they smoke, and how much money they have. If someone these days can do that they’d be my favorite rapper because you throw on any classic song from biggie or tupac I bet people anywhere have a better time listening to that song than anyone these days. The game needs someone new and someone to come out with a fresh new feel to the game. Lets hear something new and fresh with a old school beat.

Ryan Braun steroids

Why is Ryan Braun in trouble for taking performance enhancing drugs. He took steroids and is found guilty of that but why should he be frowned upon by many fans and players? He is a great baseball player, the face of the brewers organization and this years NL mvp. Now imagine the national league or all of baseball for that matter on steroids. The game would better and become greater among the players. Players would be pushed and work harder than ever to achieve greatness. People say Ryan Braun cheated taking performance enhancements, but did he? Yes steroids make you bigger faster and also stronger but he did what he had to do to be a great baseball player if that includes steroids so be it but steroids isn’t going to make him hit a .300+ batting average, hard work and dedication to the sport that he grew up loving and wanted to play made him do all that. people give steroids a negative out look, but really there scared. Imagine if all of baseball was Barry bonds, mark McGuire, Ryan Braun, roger Clemons, Andy petit, or Sammy Sosa, the game of baseball would reach pinnacles it has never been able to dream of. All of those great hitters that took steroids and great pitchers that were lights out through out there carrier did this today in there prime they would be no doubt hall of famers. They are frowned upon for what they take to become great but not how hard they work to get to the MLB and do all of there great work. Take it back to the beginning of baseball with babe Ruth, roger marris, Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, if these guys took steroids nobody ever in history would stack up to these guys ever. No matter how hard anyone worked no one would touch these guys if they took performance enhancements. Sports will never accept steroids because they say its not fare for the people In the past but should we today be shunned for having better technology and taking advantage of it? no not at all because that’s like saying its not fair for cell phones or television, yes it had nothing to do with baseball but someone’s got to stand up for steroids and make it a positive look. You take someone with natural athletic abilities to be great and you add steroids in that, I can guarantee that if he coast by with no steroids attention or bust of steroids that player will be in the hall of fame and shatter and record he sets his mind to because you take someone with the work ethic of a champion but not the strength a champion need steroids will do that and make the greatest athletes anyone has ever played there eyes on. Sure Ryan Braun took steroids but it proves my point of what steroids can do by himself winning the MVP title.

Cruise in the summer

This summer I am going on a cruise with my friend Austin from Kansas. I met Austin at a baseball showcase in Florida he was my roommate for the whole week down there. For the whole week I chilled with Austin and we had fun. We were roommates and lived and played baseball together every day for that whole week, so I and he became real good friends. So towards the end it started to suck because we knew that we may not see each other again. Me and Austin kept in touch over the months since June and stayed pretty close. So this weekend I was sitting home chilling and I get a text from him asking me on a cruise to some islands down south. So this summer I am going to fly and meet him then I’m going to be on a cruise with him all week. He was suppose to come up to new York and stay for like a week but out spring breaks are different than each other so he said I can come to a cruise with him and his family. It’ll b almost a year since I seen my friend Austin and were going to be on a cruise and having fun like we did in Florida. I cant wait to go on the cruise

My top 5 movies of all time

1.) my first favorite movie is the dark knight. It is based off batman and in Gotham city but just changed the title of the movie. The dark knight was about how the character Bruce is batman and saves Gotham from evil like the joker and two faced Harvey. The dark knight had action from the beginning to the end and was a fun movie not just cause of the action but the roll the joker had on it and you didn’t really know what was coming next so it kept you guessing.
2.) my second favorite movie of all time was gone in 60 seconds. Gone in 60 seconds is a movie with Nicholas cage and his brother is a car booster and he is a retired one himself and his brother gets in trouble with some car guy that wants all these cars and the brother gets caught so he has to come in and save the day. He steals 50 cars in a 3 day span and almost does it successfully by car number 50 the whole city is onto him and wants him caught. The last car is a 67 Shelby gt 500 and it is the nicest car in the whole movie over all the Ferraris and lambos and any other car I would take that car. He end up being late with car number 50 and fights for his life and win and gets set free.
3.) my 3rd favorite movie of all time is the departed it’s about how a young kid get corrupted by the Irish mob in Boston and becomes a cop and gives detail and tips off the boss. The department is aware of it and sends in their own under cover and tries to get him Leonardo dicaprio. So they send him to jail so he looks legit and then gets in real deep with the mob boss and real close then they find out who the rat is in the department and get him and then they get rid of the whole Irish mob guys and bust them and the rat in the department thinks hes home free but at the end another cop finds out and actually kills him and then the rat is dead.
4.) the hangover is my 4th favorite movie. Its about a group of friends 1 of them is getting married so they go to Vegas and have fun. So one of them wants to put ecstasy in the drinks but it actually happens to be roofys. So they wake up and they lost there friend and they have to back track and they have to remember where and what they did that night to find this friend. This movie is hands down the funniest movie I’ve ever seen.
5.) my 5th favorite movie of all time is 8 men out. 8 men out is about the black sox in the 20s and they done like the pay that they are getting and they made it to the World Series. So one guy had a idea that they would purposely loose the World Series and make money off of it. They ended up losing the World Series and then they got there bonuses but they ended up getting banned of professional baseball all 8 of them, hence 8 men out.

NBA lockout

The nba lockout has been a huge topic since July. It lasted over 150 days. The lock out was because they aren’t getting paid enough money. Which is a selfish, greedy, dirty move on the players part. The teams go out of their way to sign these kids which most of them come from nothing and 50 million dollars a year isn’t enough all of the sudden. Some guys go from the slums to pent houses with their natural born talent. They are taking advantage of what that were blessed with. They were given the gift to compete at the highest level which kids now a day can only dream of. They stopped playing because there not making enough money, bench players are making as much as the superstars 20 years ago. Since when was it so bad to play the game they love for less than 50 million dollars, every player thinks there Kobe or lebron but there not they worked and dominated in the nba for years to be paid what they are paid. Now a days all they want is a mansion nice cars and all the girls to go with it. To be great at a sport that you grew up playing for fun and not get paid a dime to what they are making now not be enough for some reason is bananas. How come they all need to live the high life? Why can’t they be grateful for what they have and are paid to do instead of be greedy to the people that offered you a chance of a lifetime to play in the nba want to go to waste because of your own greet. If I were the nba id play the bench players that sit the bench and make a mill or less a year and look at the superstars on the bench while there sidelining the game and see how they like it. They have to realize there are people that will play a nba game for free, just to have a chance to suit up in the jersey lace up the kicks and step on that court would change people’s lives. Yes this is their jobs and they want to be paid what they see fit but what they see fit is not always the best economical solution for everything or everyone. People come to see you play and put on a show, they want to flip the channel and watch how great your doing and watch their favorite team not turn on channel 24 (sports center) and watch how their players and the people these kids look up to not play because “there salary isn’t enough” is ridiculous and completely uncalled for.

Up and coming season

In high school I play one sport and that is baseball. All year round I play baseball for the Lansingburgh royals. When I can’t play baseball in the winter I am constantly working out and bettering myself at the game of baseball. I want to go on to college and play baseball. Ever since last season for school I’ve been playing baseball and trying to get better so I have the senior year I dream of. I have been working on my fielding skills for tough ground balls, my range at second base and my offensive as well. I put in countless hours this season to hopefully get looked at by school that I want to go to and make a good fit for me as well. Lately I’ve been lifting weights to get stronger and put on weight to get bigger. In the off season I did 3 things to become a better athlete. I got bigger faster and stronger. I want to grow up and play the great game of baseball and if I’m not playing it I want to be around it because it’s something I care about and devoted my entire like around since I was five years old. As the season gets closer I constantly push myself to get better and perform to what my ability is. I think of it like this, there are kids all over the country that play the same position at different school and start like me but there is always going to be someone working harder than I am so I constantly try to push myself so that isn’t a option this season. Last season as a junior I made honorable mention for my council. I hope this year to make first team but that’s not just gonna happen on its own I have to strive and work for that goal I set for myself. That is why I am working so hard. I look at what I want to do in life and the thing I am best at and know most about is baseball. I don’t know where or what I would be without the game, it is something that I strive to be great at and known at so I can’t get my one shot to impress someone, someone could be in the stands one day and know someone that knows someone so you never know that’s y I take every at bat, every grounder and every game like it could be my last.

Penn state university scandal

The Penn state football team has always been recognized as a top notch school not only for the players but for the great coach they had Joe Paterno. This school is a well recognized school for football; it is up there with schools like Oregon, usc, Alabama, Stanford, ect. As of lately they are not recognized for their accomplishments on the field but for their embarrassing and humiliating scandal that is going on with the former defensive coach jerry Sandusky. Jerry Sandusky was Penn states defensive coordinator for years up until his termination in 2002 due to allegations of molestation of several young boys. These allegations arose in 1999 about jerry Sandusky molesting young boys not only at his home but on Penn state campus as well! There was nothing really supporting these allegations so they just forbid Sandusky to have children at the campus, he did not comply. More stories of this happening not only arose but also had eye witnesses and more boys that are coming out and stating that this happened to them. So Sandusky was terminated immediately and revoked of his position of defensive coordinator in 2002. Now almost 10 years later this story has reached its peak not only with Sandusky fired but another defensive coordinator and the great Joe paterno is fired. They fired them because the grand jury and alleged claims state that they “knew what was happening but did not report to authorities”. So now with the court case going thru and Sandusky facing jail time and paterno and their defensive coordinator gone the football team still has to play and produce on what they are known for, winning football games. Yes, it is hard and people could say it is hard or how could they without Joe pa but Penn state is still winning football games and from what we can see for those 2 hours that thousands watch is it in the back of their minds and they proceed to be great. With the pressure that is put on them for just alone being Penn state they have a worldwide known case hovering over them. The team is still winning games and doing great so that just shows what kind of team they are and what type of team Joe paterno had and raised throughout the years.

Weekend end football with the boys

Woke up this Saturday morning to a sweet text from my friend tom Blake, which you never get a text first from him so you know its important! He texted me and 10 other friends to come down to the Lansingburgh high school football field where we are all alumni to play some football. So we got there and played some football and we ended up all getting real hurt and sore from tackling and beating up each other. we played a few games through out the day and then we picked teams of 5 and played first to 5 win by 2 tackle football with the boys. My team was tom Blake, Jared fane, Dom Canty, myself, and Jake Schongar we ended up winning 6 to 4 and brought home a victory. The dark horse of that day was Jared fane. He shocked us all because he’s a kid that doesn’t play sports for school and ended up being lockdown on defense and running over kids on offense such as I wont name drop but the biggest guy there who’s in the senior game for my school Lansingburgh high school and Jared was doing it that day. On the other hand there was many hard hits and people getting hurt but I myself had a few sports center top ten one handed clutch snags that day. So Saturday was a good ole day of old fashion smash mouth football with the boys. yeahhhhh. So the next day after a grueling day of hard core smash mouth football, blood, sweat, and tears into Saturdays game I get news that were playing again, on the evening of Sunday. Pretty much the same people went and we played for another brutal smash mouth football game. That day was by far the most physical battle I have encountered since I quit troy patriots pop Warner in 2007. I ended up getting a swollen nose, internal bleeding, broke 4 fingers, lost a tooth, and also concussion like symptoms. I still wasn’t the worst there. My friend had do be brought out on a stretcher because his bone was out of the skin. Further more I didn’t come home with the victory that day, I was defeated. Not physically but I was mentally exhausted from this brutal smash mouth football weekend I endured. This grueling two days of football did not get me down. I rose up took a ice bath, 4 Advil, and a gentle nap in my kingdom/bedroom aka my thrown. This weekend we all plan to do this again and play same place same time and I want to get a black eye, that is my goal and what I look forward to for the weekend. So be there or be frail.

paranormal activity 3

I went to go see paranormal activity this weekend with a bunch of friends Saturday night at Latham Theater. This one was about the two girls from the first two paranormal activities. This one is about there two child hoods and how this ghost “Toby” followed them. It starts off with showing clips of the two girls older and just home videos. Then it goes back in time and shows home videos from when they are kids. The step dad is a wedding video maker so he has a lot of cameras. So strange things start happening and he decides to station up cameras around the house. He watches all the tapes over and over again and sees real strange things happening. He seeing objects forming, things moving, and later sees life forms of ghost that vanish. Does not know that the ghost Toby is after the younger daughter. In the mean time the step dad is researching all of these paranormal things and looking at these videos noticing that the ghost is showing more and more also his activity towards the house and the children are getting worse as well. For example the girls were running around the house then she runs into which looks like a wall but nothing was there and then out of nowhere the girls just gets picked up by her hair and is being dangled in the air. Then there’s another scene where the older little girl wants to play “bloody marry” with the step dads’ worker. So they walk into the bathroom and play then out of nowhere a ghost named Toby starts shaking the door and messing with them. Then the guy randy gets scratched real badly on his ribs. That was only the beginning. Then later in the movie creepier things begin to happen, the daughter begins to play with the ghost called Toby and in a scene shows that she was possessed. They hire a babysitter to watch the two girls and they caught on camera which looked to be a little boy under a sheet behind her then when she goes to look back the image of the boy disappears under the sheet! Later in the movie around the last 15 minutes of the movie it takes a turn of just straight weird. They stay at the grandma’s house to get out of the house. So they have fun at the grandmas and everything seems ok then the husband hears a noise in the middle of the night and woke up the wife. She takes one for the team and goes down to check on the noise but doesn’t come back. He goes to check it out and runs into images of women in windows, noises, every creepy thing you could imagine. He goes to check outside and he opens a door and sees a group of older women staring at him then they follow him and try to get him in the house. He is running around the house franticly and finds the daughter. They hide and he comes out and wants to find the wife, he finds her levitating and then she gets thrown onto him and he falls then the grandma comes in a looks at him then killed him by breaking his whole back and didn’t lay a finger on him. This movie was the craziest scary movie I’ve ever seen and watched.

top 10 rappers

1.)    Lil Wayne is my number one rapper. He is my favorite rapper to listen to because his songs have energy and you can listen to most of his songs whenever. He is the single biggest name in the rape “game” today. Some can argue who is but he is making his own mix tapes, new albums, and making collaborations with top notch artist. One thing that makes Lil Wayne stand out compared to the other rappers is that his songs come off the top of his head he never writes a thing down just listens to beats then raps the song and most of the time they are master pieces.
2.)    My second favorite rapper has to be Tyga. Tyga is apart of  Lil Wayne rap group called young money. Tyga is making songs with lil Wayne and also other hip hop heavyweights in the game today. Tyga is one of the top rappers in young money and that’s saying a lot because of the names that are in young money.
3.)    My third favorite is rick Ross.  Rick Ross is more famous for doing mix tapes and collaborations with other rappers such as Lil Wayne, TI, Gudda Gudda, so on and so forth. Rick Ross is famous not only for his raps but his signature saying or thing he does when he raps its like a ughh that he does in every song before he starts to rap. That is how you know that rick Ross is coming on or in the song.
4.)    My 4th favorite rapper is waka flaka flame.  Waka flaka flame is kind of a new artist and has some of the best raps out there. His songs are more loud songs that are meant to get you going like “hard in the paint” and “snakes in the grass”. Also which makes him a great rapper is that he didn’t come up from really anything in one of his music videos you can see that where he grew up wasn’t a nice place but he came up and is now one of the top rappers in the game today.
5.)    My 5th favorite rapper is wiz khalifa. Wiz khalifa came onto the scene about two years ago. His songs was black and yellow which was number 1 on the charts for a while. Then he started to come out with more singles and albums that boosted his name and himself in the rap game. His type of raps are more of a mellow kinda chill raps there not really in your face gangster raps which I like. the thing I like about wiz khalifa is his laugh in most of his raps.
6.)    My 6th favorite rapper is mac miller. Mac miller is one of the few big white rappers today. He is also sort of a new rapper he started just making mix tapes and trying to sell them then he became big and now travels all over the country to pre form for his fans. The song that got me to start listening to him was his hit single knock knock. It was just a cool chill song that was fun and fun to watch his music video for it.
7.)    My 7th favorite rapper is biggie smalls aka notorious B I G. biggie smalls was a kid that use to deal drugs on the street but had a talent that couldn’t break the streets, he could rap. So one day one of his recording lands in the hands of p diddy and in the blink of an eye Christopher Wallace became biggie smalls and one of the greatest rappers of all time. His life came to a end very early and in the peak of his career. He was shot and killed in a LA drive by due to some east coast west coast rivalry that was going on in the game at that time. Even though he doesn’t but his name and raps live on and are still hits today.
8.)    My 8th favorite rapper is nicki minaje. Nicki minaje is one of the few girl rappers that can keep up and rap with the best guy rappers in the game. She is also apart of young money and kills every song/ beat that is put in front of her. She did collaborations with the best of the best before her own album came out “pink Friday” she not only had pressure so show that she can hold her own on her own album but if it will sell like every one hyped up and the expectations of millions. To come and find out it was nicki minaje and she ended up selling millions of copies world wide.
9.)    My 9th favorite rapper is a rap group called nwa. Nwa was a rap group of ice cube, dr dre, easy e, dj yellow, Arabian prince, and mc ren. At the time this was said to be the single best rap group ever. There numbers were crazy and had many viewers and haters. They were either loved or hate but money and inside disputes separated the rap group but is still the best ever rap group hands down. With straight outa Compton and other songs you cant really argue that they wernt.
My 10th favorite rapper is tupac. Tupac was a late 80s early 90s rapper/ actor. He was frinds with biggie and rapped with him but then tupac was attacked and then tupac went to the “west side”. The songs that made me like him were dear mama I get around and also keep ya head up. Also like biggie tupacs life has ended shortly due to a shooting. Tupac in his reighn as a top rapper changed the game from just rappers to “gangset rappers”
