My days as a journalist

This year at Lansingburgh high school I am a member of the graduating class of 2012. This summer was the best summer because me and my friends knew that this is are senior year and we are going to do it real big! So September slowly starts to creep up on me and I get my schedule. This was actually the very first class I wanted to drop this year because I didn’t even know what a journalist was. My mom made me suck it up and deal with it, so I take the class. This is hands down my favorite class of my senior year as of now. Not only do we do fun work but we have fun and Mr. huba is a character up there when he’s teaching. I figured out what it is like to be a journalist. A journalist is a person that analysis a story or a interviewer. Journalists are tricky though because they only let you see the side that they are paid to show or want you to believe. Now due to that class I can say I am I inspired journalist at Lansingburgh high school under Mr. huba aka H money. We had some characters in our class which me and my “premeditated journalism partner” Dominick Canty (elmos world) got some chuckles from. I am very glad that I stayed into this class because I found something that I like to do which is blog and write about things on my mind, I may not be good at it but it a hobby I could see myself doing for a little while. At first when I heard that we have 12 blogs due by January I thought this was going to be a hassle but turns out it’s not that bad and 12 may not be enough cause I had fun doing this project and most of all I had a great first half of my last year in high school and I’m proud to say that journalism was 1/5 of my great time that I had this semester. Now that its coming to a end I don’t want it to I have a class sure I don’t talk to everyone or know everyone but it’s a fun class to go to because everyone’s different and Mr. huba could be in front of the class making fun of one kid about one thing and another about another thing. This class, this senior year is one of a kind not only for the people we have in the class but for the amount of fun we have together.

My high school years

My high school years have been 4 great years. since freshman year to now my senior year it had been a great time. I started out a little 14 year old freshman and now I’m a 17 year old senior and I’ve seen a lot of stuff change in my school. I seen it go from the school to be and a fun school to be at to a school where its highest rank lately is on the teen pregnancy charts. This school in for years has changed a lot. I remember it being ok to hang in the hall what for a little while or to be ok to have fun and just to be around people and go to school and want to go to school not because you have to but because you want to. Now a day my school is a school I can’t wait to get out of. My school is the most disgusting school and just all around rudest school I have ever seen. The kids don’t care, the teachers try to be strict and boss kids around because of their title, my principle for example went from a band teacher to a principle and I would like to know if he tried to talk to kids like he does now when he was a band teacher. The more time I spend in school the more I see. I see fights and gang stuff and all sorts of disgusting dirty people. My freshman year it was clean, safe, fun and a great school, not the best but a good school. We had athletics not so much academics but it’s at a all time low now. This is the school I grew up not waiting to get to know I can’t wait to get out. The one thing that I am going to miss is the freedom I have in high school I do my work get it done and get good grades while having fun. I can’t wait to get out because now you can’t look at one person one way and they’ll want to fight. I just seen a teacher mess with a student about going to her class and he got all ghetto and loud with him just over a question about going to class. Sure there’s always going to be bad kids in every class and people have bad days but it’s a everyday occurrence here at my school. When I envisioned my senior year freshman year I thought I would have the best time of my life be in a great school with great people. I’m around great people and very special people, if you know what I mean. I’m not saying I’m the sharpest tool in the shed or a great kid, but I do my work and just do me in school and stay away from all this drama. College, here I come!!

What happened to the rap game?

Look at 20 or 30 years when hip hop was on its rise. The hip hop game had fresh beats and was rapping about their lives either in the streets or what they do all day. Rap group like NWA was the face of west coast rap and the face of “gangster rap”, they didn’t care and they rapped about corrupt and racist cops and were shunned as a group for it. Unlike any other group at that time they produced phenomenal songs like straight out of Compton, easy e, the abc song, ect and they also had people trying to stop their music out but they kept making hits and said f the police. Then at the same time west coast had snoop dog, Dr. Dre. Ice cube, they were loaded on the west coast and the hip hop game was fun and a great story to listen to. Then the two biggest rappers came out and it reached pinnacles it had never seen with biggie smalls and Tupac. Back then it was about a great time and their lives. Now a day the game is about sex, pot, and how much money they have. Rappers these days have ridiculously hit songs but it’s all the same thing. We get it all you guys have money, you don’t have to keep reminding people, they have sex with a lot of girls but I bet my life that if they weren’t famous rappers they would even come close to the girls they are now, and also yea you guys can afford great weed and smoke all day every day, awesome now rap about something new. Now a day’s it’s like hearing a broken record with all of these songs. The rap game needs someone like biggie smalls with that fresh feel and something new. I want to hear another biggie smalls or someone to bring it back a decade or two and rap about something more than how much girls they get, how much pot they smoke, and how much money they have. If someone these days can do that they’d be my favorite rapper because you throw on any classic song from biggie or tupac I bet people anywhere have a better time listening to that song than anyone these days. The game needs someone new and someone to come out with a fresh new feel to the game. Lets hear something new and fresh with a old school beat.

Ryan Braun steroids

Why is Ryan Braun in trouble for taking performance enhancing drugs. He took steroids and is found guilty of that but why should he be frowned upon by many fans and players? He is a great baseball player, the face of the brewers organization and this years NL mvp. Now imagine the national league or all of baseball for that matter on steroids. The game would better and become greater among the players. Players would be pushed and work harder than ever to achieve greatness. People say Ryan Braun cheated taking performance enhancements, but did he? Yes steroids make you bigger faster and also stronger but he did what he had to do to be a great baseball player if that includes steroids so be it but steroids isn’t going to make him hit a .300+ batting average, hard work and dedication to the sport that he grew up loving and wanted to play made him do all that. people give steroids a negative out look, but really there scared. Imagine if all of baseball was Barry bonds, mark McGuire, Ryan Braun, roger Clemons, Andy petit, or Sammy Sosa, the game of baseball would reach pinnacles it has never been able to dream of. All of those great hitters that took steroids and great pitchers that were lights out through out there carrier did this today in there prime they would be no doubt hall of famers. They are frowned upon for what they take to become great but not how hard they work to get to the MLB and do all of there great work. Take it back to the beginning of baseball with babe Ruth, roger marris, Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, if these guys took steroids nobody ever in history would stack up to these guys ever. No matter how hard anyone worked no one would touch these guys if they took performance enhancements. Sports will never accept steroids because they say its not fare for the people In the past but should we today be shunned for having better technology and taking advantage of it? no not at all because that’s like saying its not fair for cell phones or television, yes it had nothing to do with baseball but someone’s got to stand up for steroids and make it a positive look. You take someone with natural athletic abilities to be great and you add steroids in that, I can guarantee that if he coast by with no steroids attention or bust of steroids that player will be in the hall of fame and shatter and record he sets his mind to because you take someone with the work ethic of a champion but not the strength a champion need steroids will do that and make the greatest athletes anyone has ever played there eyes on. Sure Ryan Braun took steroids but it proves my point of what steroids can do by himself winning the MVP title.

Cruise in the summer

This summer I am going on a cruise with my friend Austin from Kansas. I met Austin at a baseball showcase in Florida he was my roommate for the whole week down there. For the whole week I chilled with Austin and we had fun. We were roommates and lived and played baseball together every day for that whole week, so I and he became real good friends. So towards the end it started to suck because we knew that we may not see each other again. Me and Austin kept in touch over the months since June and stayed pretty close. So this weekend I was sitting home chilling and I get a text from him asking me on a cruise to some islands down south. So this summer I am going to fly and meet him then I’m going to be on a cruise with him all week. He was suppose to come up to new York and stay for like a week but out spring breaks are different than each other so he said I can come to a cruise with him and his family. It’ll b almost a year since I seen my friend Austin and were going to be on a cruise and having fun like we did in Florida. I cant wait to go on the cruise

My top 5 movies of all time

1.) my first favorite movie is the dark knight. It is based off batman and in Gotham city but just changed the title of the movie. The dark knight was about how the character Bruce is batman and saves Gotham from evil like the joker and two faced Harvey. The dark knight had action from the beginning to the end and was a fun movie not just cause of the action but the roll the joker had on it and you didn’t really know what was coming next so it kept you guessing.
2.) my second favorite movie of all time was gone in 60 seconds. Gone in 60 seconds is a movie with Nicholas cage and his brother is a car booster and he is a retired one himself and his brother gets in trouble with some car guy that wants all these cars and the brother gets caught so he has to come in and save the day. He steals 50 cars in a 3 day span and almost does it successfully by car number 50 the whole city is onto him and wants him caught. The last car is a 67 Shelby gt 500 and it is the nicest car in the whole movie over all the Ferraris and lambos and any other car I would take that car. He end up being late with car number 50 and fights for his life and win and gets set free.
3.) my 3rd favorite movie of all time is the departed it’s about how a young kid get corrupted by the Irish mob in Boston and becomes a cop and gives detail and tips off the boss. The department is aware of it and sends in their own under cover and tries to get him Leonardo dicaprio. So they send him to jail so he looks legit and then gets in real deep with the mob boss and real close then they find out who the rat is in the department and get him and then they get rid of the whole Irish mob guys and bust them and the rat in the department thinks hes home free but at the end another cop finds out and actually kills him and then the rat is dead.
4.) the hangover is my 4th favorite movie. Its about a group of friends 1 of them is getting married so they go to Vegas and have fun. So one of them wants to put ecstasy in the drinks but it actually happens to be roofys. So they wake up and they lost there friend and they have to back track and they have to remember where and what they did that night to find this friend. This movie is hands down the funniest movie I’ve ever seen.
5.) my 5th favorite movie of all time is 8 men out. 8 men out is about the black sox in the 20s and they done like the pay that they are getting and they made it to the World Series. So one guy had a idea that they would purposely loose the World Series and make money off of it. They ended up losing the World Series and then they got there bonuses but they ended up getting banned of professional baseball all 8 of them, hence 8 men out.

NBA lockout

The nba lockout has been a huge topic since July. It lasted over 150 days. The lock out was because they aren’t getting paid enough money. Which is a selfish, greedy, dirty move on the players part. The teams go out of their way to sign these kids which most of them come from nothing and 50 million dollars a year isn’t enough all of the sudden. Some guys go from the slums to pent houses with their natural born talent. They are taking advantage of what that were blessed with. They were given the gift to compete at the highest level which kids now a day can only dream of. They stopped playing because there not making enough money, bench players are making as much as the superstars 20 years ago. Since when was it so bad to play the game they love for less than 50 million dollars, every player thinks there Kobe or lebron but there not they worked and dominated in the nba for years to be paid what they are paid. Now a days all they want is a mansion nice cars and all the girls to go with it. To be great at a sport that you grew up playing for fun and not get paid a dime to what they are making now not be enough for some reason is bananas. How come they all need to live the high life? Why can’t they be grateful for what they have and are paid to do instead of be greedy to the people that offered you a chance of a lifetime to play in the nba want to go to waste because of your own greet. If I were the nba id play the bench players that sit the bench and make a mill or less a year and look at the superstars on the bench while there sidelining the game and see how they like it. They have to realize there are people that will play a nba game for free, just to have a chance to suit up in the jersey lace up the kicks and step on that court would change people’s lives. Yes this is their jobs and they want to be paid what they see fit but what they see fit is not always the best economical solution for everything or everyone. People come to see you play and put on a show, they want to flip the channel and watch how great your doing and watch their favorite team not turn on channel 24 (sports center) and watch how their players and the people these kids look up to not play because “there salary isn’t enough” is ridiculous and completely uncalled for.
